Ask me anything   Words I never said.

I could see myself wearing these in a corporate setting, making it a statement piece with business attire. Picture it now: tailored blazer over a chiffon top with loose bow on the collar with a fitting skirt to match. Excuse me while I drool over my imaginary wardrobe.

what-do-i-wear:

blazer: Zara // blouse: Romwe // pants: H&M // bag: vintage // pumps: House of Harlow 1960 via Sarenza (image: fashionhippieloves)

I can’t get over how sophisticated yet ELEGANT this look is! It screams power, authority, yet stylish all at the same time. Quite frankly, I’m beginning to notice my obsession over the cropped cigarette pant. I think it’s because of my love for tailored structures.

I won!!!

although this is supposed to be a short post that normal people would write but I’m anything but so I’m just going to over analyze the situation as per usual haha

So I was on facebook looking something up since I don’t just hang out on there anymore. I came across StylePantry’s page that I was already following and saw these American Apparel, blue riding pants that look like their disco pants and the caption read something like “tweet me on how you would style these for a chance to win them.” So I did, just doing it for fun, not really thinking I would win and I won!!!

This weekend was a rough one where I sort of had a breakdown not knowing what the future holds and just being frustrated that I’m not moving as fast as I would like or that I’m not in the space that I thought I would be in at the moment. A breakdown is always a way to a breakthrough (I think I got that from Oprah haha). Winning this styling challenge/giveaway, I saw it as a sign that I do have the talent, knowledge, and the capabilities to succeed in the industry. I just need to apply myself and dive right in whether or not I know the outcome. I was so excited when I received StylePantry’s tweet that I had won. I don’t think I’ve ever won a contest before besides winning Princess for Karamu and even then that was a huge shock!

I’ve always thought that people saw me as average or mediocre and who knows maybe I am but I refuse to think that way about myself. Just because I’m not the loudest one in the room doesn’t mean I’m the weakest. I actually think quite the opposite: the loudest one usually IS the weakest and I truly believe in the “silent but deadly” characteristic that a person can have.

This is only the beginning. Bring it On!
